I personally appreciated the meticulous approach to the ancient poem, not forgetting that it would still be practically impossible to fully showcase all the richness of the original work. I found myself at times disconnected from some of the stylistic choices which felt more personal than actual attempts at modernizing ancient lore and clothing. On the other hand the casting was superb and each actor managed to make you feel what they were supposed to — from anger to joy to frustration and all that lies in between. Overall a great movie that managed to properly showcase the many talented individuals behind it.
